Quercus muehlenbergii
Chinkapin Oak is an attractive medium to large shade tree suitable for use in much of Texas. Its distinctive saw-tooth leaves, which resemble those of the chinquapin gree found in the eastern United States, are a rich green, turning yellow to bronze in fall.
Hardiness: Zone 5
Exposure: Full sun
Size: 50-60 feet tall, 20 to 40 feet wide
Care: Seldom troubled by diseases or pests.
