Leafy Greens
Texas is well known for winter production of a wide variety of greens. Texas leafy greens are sold in stores nationwide. Texas produces about 1,000 acres of leafy greens annually including mustard and turnip greens.

Cracked ice around and in packages may help extend shelf life. Keep at proper humidity levels to prevent wilting. Collard greens should be handled like spinach. Kale will freeze at 31° F, -.6° C.
Do not store or transport ethylene-sensitive items with commodities that produce ethylene.
Two can be lightly frozen several times without sustaining serious damage.
